Bijbehara, June 22, KNT: A 10-year-old girl died after sustaining a severe neck injury while playing on the roof of her house in the Gadiseer area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Tafheeda Khursheed, daughter of Khursheed Ahmad Dar, a resident of Gadiseer, Bijbehara.
According to officials, the minor sustained a critical neck injury while playing on the rooftop of her residence. Family members immediately rushed her to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment.
However, despite efforts by doctors, the girl succumbed to her injuries, officials said.
The body was lying at SDH Bijbehara at the time of filing, while medico-legal formalities were being completed.
The incident has left the family and local residents in shock and mourning.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated the necessary proceedings. [KNT]
