Sopore, Feb 24 2026:A Dementia Screening Camp for senior citizens was successfully organized today at Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Dangerpora, by the Social Welfare Department , in coordination with the Health Department.
The camp aimed at early identification and management of dementia and other age-related health conditions among elderly citizens. During the camp, senior citizens were provided with free dementia screening, general health check-ups, expert medical consultation, and distribution of essential medicines.
A large number of elderly beneficiaries from Dangerpora and adjoining areas attended the camp and availed the healthcare services. The medical team conducted detailed assessments and also provided counselling to patients and caregivers regarding proper care and follow-up.
The initiative reflects the commitment of the Social Welfare Department towards ensuring accessible and quality healthcare services for senior citizens under the ongoing welfare programmes.
The organizers expressed gratitude to the Health Department, medical staff, and local authorities for their cooperation in making the camp a success.
