SRINAGAR: A viral video showing a traffic policeman allegedly slapping a civilian during a routine document check in Srinagar has prompted SSP Traffic City, Aijaz Ahmad, to order a fact-finding inquiry, assuring action once the probe report is submitted.
The viral clip, widely shared across online platforms, shows the traffic cop slapping a person during document verification, sparking debate over accountability in enforcement operations.
Taking note of the incident, SSP Traffic City Srinagar, Aijaz Ahmad, said that a probe has been initiated.
“Taking suo motu cognisance of the viral video where a traffic cop is seen slapping someone, a fact-finding enquiry has been initiated to ascertain the facts,” he stated.
Officials further said that necessary action will follow once the inquiry report is submitted. (KDC)
