Srinagar, 15 June (KB): As tensions rise in the Middle East, worried parents of Kashmiri students studying in Iran held a protest at Press colony Srinagar on Sunday, urging the Indian government to evacuate their children to safety amid the growing conflict between Iran and Israel.

According to details accessed by Kashmir Bulletin (KB), a large number of people gathered at the Press Colony to demand the immediate and safe return of their children who are currently studying in Iranian universities.

“We can’t sleep, we can’t eat. Our children are living under the open sky while missiles rain down,” said one distressed parent. “They are not just Kashmiri students, they are Indians. If evacuation isn’t possible immediately, at least shift them to safer places.”

Protesters said many of the students are pursuing medical and religious education in Iran and are now stuck in a dangerous situation. Holding placards and raising slogans, they appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs to expedite evacuation efforts before the situation deteriorates further.

Parents also expressed concern over poor communication and lack of updates on evacuation plans. They said the uncertainty has left them anxious and helpless.

Notably, around 1,000 Kashmiri students are currently enrolled in various institutions across Iran.(KB)
