Strong Winds Uproot Walnut and Poplar Trees, Wood-Shed, Bathroom Suffers Partial Damage in Lolab’s Potshai

Kupwara, May 19: Fierce winds late Sunday night caused significant disruption in Potshai area of Lolab, as decades-old walnut and poplar trees were uprooted, resulting in partial damage to residential property.

 

The incident occurred around midnight when high-velocity gusts swept through the region. One of the uprooted trees collapsed onto a wood-shed and an a bathroom within a household compound, causing structural damage.

 

 

Eyewitnesses and local residents said that the intense winds destabilized the aged trees standing close to the home. The wood-shed sustained considerable damage, raising concerns for the safety of livestock housed inside, while the bathroom was left partially unusable.

 

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
