Srinagar, Jun 5: National Conference MP Aga Syed Ruhullah on Friday questioned his party-led government\u2019s decision to form a committee on the proposed liquor ban in Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that a \u201cclear public mandate\u201d already exists against alcohol.<\/p>\n
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), MP Ruhullah said, \u201cWhy should we form a committee? We have to sit in the cabinet and take a decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Srinagar MP said a committee is only needed to seek public opinion. \u201cBut here, people have already told you their opinion when they voted for you \u2014 that alcohol is a crime. Now, you should be ashamed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
MP Ruhullah said, \u201cThe BJP also tells you that alcohol is a crime. It is a joke to hear this from them. But you gave them a chance to speak.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asserting that there was a clear public mandate against liquor, he said, \u201cWhy should we form a committee? We should sit in the cabinet and take a decision. Alcohol will be a crime. I don\u2019t understand this joke.\u201d<\/p>\n
