Srinagar, Apr 30 (KNO): Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in the Handwara area of north Kashmir\u2019s Kupwara district on Thursday, officials said.<\/p>\n

An official told the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a motorcyclist was killed after his bike collided with a load carrier on the Handwara bypass road.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He said the accident involved a motorcycle bearing registration number JK09E-0932 and a load carrier JK09E-1239. The rider, identified as Shahid Ahmad Shah, son of Irshad Ahmad Shah and a resident of Maidan Chogal, sustained critical injuries.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was shifted to GMC Handwara, where doctors declared him brought dead,\u201d the official said, adding that the load carrier driver fled the scene.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In another incident at Maratgam in Handwara, a load carrier bearing registration number JK09C-4575 hit a pedestrian. The victim sustained critical injuries and was taken to GMC Handwara, where she was declared brought dead.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
She was later identified as Aazi Begum (70), wife of Mohd Abdullah Bhat.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
