Sopore, Apr 27: Senior Superintendent of Police Sopore (SSP) Iftikhar Talib (JKPS) on Monday said the drug-free Jammu and Kashmir campaign launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on April 11 is witnessing increasing public participation across sections of society.<\/p>\n

Speaking during an awareness march in Sopore, SSP Talib said the campaign has evolved into a public movement, with people from different walks of life joining efforts against drug abuse.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He said a march was organised as part of the initiative, with participation from civil society members and officials, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore S.A Raina.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cAll sections of society are joining the campaign. We are trying to make it a mass movement,\u201d SSP Talib said, urging wider public involvement.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The SSP said the administration and police are working to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, describing it as a serious threat to society.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He called for collective efforts to address the issue and to help those affected by substance abuse, while also preventing youth from falling into addiction.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Referring to the campaign, Talib said it should be seen as a sustained effort to mobilise communities against drugs and promote awareness at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n
