{"id":94301,"date":"2026-03-08T23:54:06","date_gmt":"2026-03-08T18:24:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/?p=94301"},"modified":"2026-03-08T23:54:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-08T18:24:06","slug":"educational-institutions-in-kashmir-to-reopen-tomorrow-sakina-itoo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/08\/educational-institutions-in-kashmir-to-reopen-tomorrow-sakina-itoo\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational institutions in Kashmir to reopen tomorrow: Sakina Itoo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Srinagar, Mar 08 (KNO): The government on Sunday decided to reopen all educational institutions in Kashmir region on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The decision comes a week after the government had ordered closure of all educational institutions as a precautionary measure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Education Minister Sakina Itoo said that the schools, colleges and universities in all districts of Kashmir region will reopen on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter taking a review of ground situation, we have decided to reopen the educational institutions in all districts of Kashmir from Monday,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Previously a week back, the government had ordered closure of schools and colleges across Kashmir region in order to ensure the safety of the students.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Following the killing of Supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in joint US-Israeli strikes, a widespread protest had erupted across Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pertinently, schools upto 8th standard will reopen tomorrow following the winter break of more than two months.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on February-23, schools from 9th to 12th standard classes resumed academic activities in Kashmir division and winter zones of Jammu division following a winter break of over 70 days.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The government had ordered the students of 9th class and onwards to observe the winter vacations from December-11-2025 to February-22-2026.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On November-25, School Education Department (SED) had announced winter break in a phased manner for Kashmir division and winter zones of Jammu division.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SED in an order had said that the vacations for Pre-primary (Balvatika) classes shall commence from November-26 to February-28-2026.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In case of middle classes upto 8th standard, the department had said that the vacations shall be observed from December-01 to February-28.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It also said that the winter break for 9th to 12th standard shall commence from December-11 to February-22.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SED had ordered the teaching faculty to remain available for any academic activity during the vacation period.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Teaching staff was ordered to report back to their respective schools on February-20-2026 for making arrangements regarding opening of schools.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on February-16, Colleges in Kashmir valley resumed activities following a 52 days of winter vacations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department on December-23-2025 had announced 52-days winter vacation for degree colleges falling in the winter zones of Kashmir division.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The government had said that the degree colleges in the Kashmir Division and those in the winter zone of Jammu Division shall observe winter vacations from December-24-2025 to February-14-2026\u2014(KNO)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Srinagar, Mar 08 (KNO): The government on Sunday decided to reopen all educational institutions in Kashmir region on Monday. &nbsp;
