{"id":93906,"date":"2026-02-05T23:55:03","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T18:25:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/?p=93906"},"modified":"2026-02-05T23:55:03","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T18:25:03","slug":"bgsbu-received-rs-59-91-crore-iust-rs-297-54-crore-as-capital-infusion-jk-govt-informs-la","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/05\/bgsbu-received-rs-59-91-crore-iust-rs-297-54-crore-as-capital-infusion-jk-govt-informs-la\/","title":{"rendered":"BGSBU received Rs 59.91 crore, IUST Rs 297.54 crore as capital infusion: J&#038;K Govt informs LA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Srinagar, Feb 05 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday said that a total capital infusion of over Rs 357 crore has been provided to Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, and Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, since their inception.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a written reply to an Un-Starred Assembly Question tabled by MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, the Higher Education Department, according to the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) informed that BGSBU has received Rs 59.91 crore, while IUST has been provided Rs 297.54 crore as capital infusion over the years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The reply revealed that capital funding to IUST began in 2008\u201309 with \u20b9350 crore, followed by Rs 407.50 crore in 2009\u201310. From 2011\u201312 onwards, year-wise capital infusion to IUST continued, including Rs 924.40 crore in 2011\u201312, Rs 775 crore in 2012\u201313, Rs 1,230 crore in 2013\u201314 and Rs 2,500 crore in 2014\u201315.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The IUST received its highest capital support of Rs 6,000 crore during 2015\u201316, followed by Rs 1,599.02 crore in 2016\u201317 and Rs 1,300 crore in 2018\u201319. In recent years, the university received Rs 2,155.58 crore in 2023\u201324 and Rs 2,820.70 crore in 2024\u201325, while Rs 2,749.55 crore has been earmarked for 2025\u201326.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For BGSBU, capital infusion started in 2011\u201312 with Rs 400 crore, followed by Rs 564.62 crore in 2012\u201313 and Rs 400 crore in 2013\u201314.
