{"id":93865,"date":"2026-02-03T21:25:10","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T15:55:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/?p=93865"},"modified":"2026-02-03T21:25:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T15:55:10","slug":"jk-assembly-2026-budget-harassment-of-kashmiris-to-be-discussed-in-house-cm-omar-abdullah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/03\/jk-assembly-2026-budget-harassment-of-kashmiris-to-be-discussed-in-house-cm-omar-abdullah\/","title":{"rendered":"JK Assembly 2026: Budget, harassment of Kashmiris to be discussed in House: CM Omar Abdullah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Says party issues to be handled by president Farooq Abdullah, not him<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jammu, Feb 3 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that the issue of alleged victimisation and harassment of Kashmiris will be taken up for discussion in the ongoing Assembly session, asserting that he would respond to queries related to the budget only on the floor of the House.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters outside the Assembly, Omar said that a discussion on concerns related to Kashmiris had been scheduled in the legislature.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are going to have a discussion on the issue of victimising and harassing Kashmiris,\u201d he said as per the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When asked about his views on the budget presentation, the Chief Minister declined to comment outside the House, saying he would address the matter during the Assembly proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will say everything in the House regarding the budget,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Responding to questions about remarks allegedly made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Parliament, Omar said it was the Speaker\u2019s privilege to decide on such matters and stressed that legislative decorum must be maintained.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is the privilege of the Speaker to decide. In the same way, in our Assembly, it is not appropriate to discuss our Assembly in Parliament,\u201d he said, adding that he was unaware of what transpired there.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On the Congress\u2019s demand for the formation of a coordination committee, Omar said the matter should be taken up with the party leadership. \u201cTalk to the president of the National Conference,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Clarifying his role, Omar said he serves as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Dr. Farooq Abdullah remains the president of the National Conference.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeet the president of the National Conference, Farooq Abdullah.
