Sopore, November 13:A two-day National Conference on \u201cFrontiers in Basic Sciences: Advancing Climate Resilience, Drug Discovery & Epigenetic Medicine\u201d was successfully organized at Government Degree College for Women, Sopore, on November 12\u201313, 2025. The event brought together eminent scientists, academicians, and students from across the country to deliberate on the convergence of climate science, biomedical research, and epigenetics.<\/p>\n

The Inaugural Session was moderated and anchored by Prof. Zubair Sayeed Masoodi. The occasion was graced by Mr. Irshad Rasool Kar, Hon\u2019ble MLA, Sopore, as the Chief Guest, along with dignitaries from the civil and police administration.<\/p>\n

In her welcome address, Prof. Subeena Chilloo highlighted the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration in scientific progress and assured that such academic initiatives would continue to inspire and enrich students and faculty alike. The Organizing Secretary, Dr. Jaffar Bhat, outlined the objectives and collaborative spirit behind the conference. The college newsletter was also released during the session, and Prof. Syed Murtaza Geelani delivered the vote of thanks.<\/p>\n

Following the inaugural, the Chief Guest inaugurated the RFID-based College Library. Ms. Nusrat Jabeen Khan, Librarian, presented an overview of the new facility\u2019s functioning and its benefits, which were widely appreciated for enhancing library efficiency through smart technology.<\/p>\n

Over two days, six technical sessions were held featuring experts from the University of New Mexico (USA), IITs, CSIR laboratories, and various State and Central Universities. The sessions covered diverse themes in climate resilience, biomedical innovation, and molecular medicine, offering participants valuable insights into cutting-edge research.<\/p>\n

The Valedictory Session was attended by several distinguished academicians. A detailed conference report was presented by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Tantary, while Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad Dar proposed the vote of thanks. The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Aadil Mohi-ud-Din Sheikh. Technical support throughout the event was provided by Mr. Majid and Mr. Afaq under the supervision of Dr. Khalid Bashir.<\/p>\n
