{"id":89811,"date":"2025-08-08T00:07:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T18:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/?p=89811"},"modified":"2025-08-08T00:07:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T18:37:07","slug":"3-crpf-personnel-killed-10-injured-as-vehicle-falls-into-gorge-at-basantgar-army-helicopters-pressed-into-service-to-airlift-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/08\/3-crpf-personnel-killed-10-injured-as-vehicle-falls-into-gorge-at-basantgar-army-helicopters-pressed-into-service-to-airlift-injured\/","title":{"rendered":"3 CRPF personnel killed, 10 injured as vehicle falls into gorge at Basantgar Army Helicopters pressed into service to airlift injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Udhampur, Aug 07<\/strong>: Three CRPF personnel were killed while over 10 others sustained injuries\u2014five of them critically\u2014after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident and plunged into a deep gorge in Basantgarh area of Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s Udhampur district on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Official sources told the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the CRPF vehicle was on its way to a location in the hilly terrain when it skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge, leading to casualties.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRescue operations were immediately launched, and all the injured were evacuated from the accident site,\u201d an official said. \u201cFive among the injured are in a very serious condition and have been shifted to a hospital for advanced treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh took to X (formerly Twitter) and expressed concern over the incident.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDisturbing to receive the news of a road accident involving a CRPF vehicle in the Kandva\u2013Basantgarh area. The vehicle was carrying several brave jawans of the CRPF,\u201d he posted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have just now spoken to DC Ms. Saloni Rai, who is personally monitoring the situation and keeping me updated. Rescue measures have been initiated immediately. Locals have voluntarily come forward to assist.
