{"id":88115,"date":"2025-05-04T00:13:24","date_gmt":"2025-05-03T18:43:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/?p=88115"},"modified":"2025-05-04T00:13:44","modified_gmt":"2025-05-03T18:43:44","slug":"india-suspends-mail-parcel-services-with-pakistan-through-air-surface-routes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/04\/india-suspends-mail-parcel-services-with-pakistan-through-air-surface-routes\/","title":{"rendered":"India suspends mail, parcel services with Pakistan through air, surface routes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New Delhi, May 3:<\/strong>\u00a0India on Saturday suspended exchange of all categories of mail and parcels from Pakistan through air and surface routes amid escalating tensions between the two nations over the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.<\/p>\n<p>The order suspending the services was issued by the Department of Posts that operates under the Ministry of Communication.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Citing \u201ccross-border linkages\u201d to the April 22 attack, India has promised severe punishment to those involved in the strike.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a high-level meeting with the top defence brass, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asserted that the armed forces have \u201ccomplete operational freedom\u201d to decide on the mode, targets and timing of India\u2019s response to the terror attack.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister affirmed that it is a national resolve to deal a crushing blow to terrorism, they said after the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>India on April 23 announced a raft of punitive measures against Pakistan including suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, shutting down of the only operation land border crossing at Attari and downgrading of diplomatic ties in view of cross-border links to the attack.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In response, Pakistan shut its airspace to Indian airliners and suspended all trade with India, including through third countries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan rejected India\u2019s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and said any move to stop the flow of water will be seen as an \u201cact of war\u201d.\u2013(PTI)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi, May 3:&nbsp;India on Saturday suspended exchange of all categories of mail and parcels from Pakistan through air and surface routes amid escalating tensions between the two nations over the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
