Urges Union Minister Rijiju to help clearance of key development proposals for J&K<\/strong><\/p>\n

Srinagar, Apr 06 (KNO): Reaffirming Jammu and Kashmir’s emotional and constitutional connection with New Delhi, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday said that the people of J&K still consider it a state in spirit and wish to be a vital part of the country\u2019s journey of progress.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 3rd Lok Samvardhan Parv\u2014an event celebrating unity, participation, and progress\u2014the Chief Minister, according to the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) welcomed Union Minister of Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju and made an earnest appeal for continued support from the Centre.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cDespite J&K not being a state constitutionally, we are still of the firm belief that it\u2019s a state,\u201d Abdullah said, as per KNO.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cJammu and Kashmir has faced a lot of problems in the past, but we are slowly emerging from those shadows. We want J&K to become a part and parcel of the country\u2019s progress,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Chief Minister urged the Union Minister to help expedite clearance of key development proposals from the J&K, emphasizing that timely approval could greatly benefit the people of the region.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWherever you can help us in this regard, please do help us by clearing our proposals so that people of J&K get benefitted,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Praising the Lok Samvardhan Parv for offering a platform to the people of J&K, Abdullah said, \u201cThis programme has provided an opportunity for artisans and others from the region to exhibit their talent. Such platforms not only encourage participation but also strengthen the cultural fabric of the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also acknowledged the challenges associated with Rijiju\u2019s portfolio. \u201cThe portfolio of Rijiju sahib looks simple, but in fact, it\u2019s a difficult one as people across the country are diverse, they have different religions, cultures\u2026\u201d he remarked, underlining the complexity of ensuring unity in diversity.<\/p>\n

Abdullah expressed hope that the Centre would extend all possible assistance to support the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially at a time when the region is looking forward to a new chapter of peace and prosperity.<\/p>\n
