{"id":86223,"date":"2025-02-13T22:10:59","date_gmt":"2025-02-13T16:40:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/?p=86223"},"modified":"2025-02-13T22:11:48","modified_gmt":"2025-02-13T16:41:48","slug":"toll-tax-revenue-surges-to-rs-436-86-cr-in-2023-24-in-jk-goi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/index.php\/2025\/02\/13\/toll-tax-revenue-surges-to-rs-436-86-cr-in-2023-24-in-jk-goi\/","title":{"rendered":"Toll tax revenue surges to Rs 436.86 cr in 2023-24 in J&#038;K: GoI"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>\u2018<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Srinagar, Feb 13 : Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s toll tax revenue has witnessed a significant increase over the past five years, rising from Rs 130.07 crore in 2019-20 to Rs 436.86 crore in 2023-24, according to data presented in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, despite this growth, J&amp;K remains among the states with the lowest toll collection in the country.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Compared to states like Uttar Pradesh (Rs 6,695.40 crore in 2023-24) and Rajasthan (Rs 5,549.48 crore), J&amp;K\u2019s revenue is relatively modest.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Even neighboring Punjab, which recorded a dip in toll collection in 2020-21 (282.15 crore), saw a sharp rise to Rs 1,491.94 crore in 2023-24\u2014more than three times that of J&amp;K.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The data also reveals a steady year-on-year increase in toll collection in J&amp;K.
