{"id":85922,"date":"2025-02-05T00:37:06","date_gmt":"2025-02-04T19:07:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/?p=85922"},"modified":"2025-02-05T00:37:12","modified_gmt":"2025-02-04T19:07:12","slug":"jk-budget-2025-26-cm-omar-abdullah-to-hold-consultations-with-mlas-over-priority-sector-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.khushalekashmir.com\/index.php\/2025\/02\/05\/jk-budget-2025-26-cm-omar-abdullah-to-hold-consultations-with-mlas-over-priority-sector-works\/","title":{"rendered":"J&#038;K Budget 2025-26: CM Omar Abdullah to Hold Consultations with MLAs Over Priority-Sector Works"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><strong>To Interact with MLAs of 4 Districts Tomorrow<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Srinagar, Feb 04 (KNO): In a significant move, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is also the Minister in-charge of the Finance Department, is holding pre-budget consultations with members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and District Development Council (DDC) chairpersons from Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sources told the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that ahead of the Union Territory\u2019s budget, Omar Abdullah has decided to hold consultations with all MLAs, DDC chairpersons, and deputy commissioners.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To begin with, the CM will hold consultations with MLAs of four districts each on Wednesday and Thursday. \u201cHe will hold consultations with MLAs and DDC chairpersons of Anantnag, Budgam, Kathua, and Samba districts tomorrow and will hold similar meetings with legislators of Baramulla, Kulgam, Ramban, and Udhampur on Thursday,\u201d a minister, wishing to remain anonymous, said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He said these meetings are aimed at making the budget more inclusive and participatory. \u201cThese meetings are held to get inputs from MLAs about priority-sector works and ensure that the needs and aspirations of the people are reflected in the budget,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He added that these meetings are being held after MLAs identified priority\u2014sector works to the tune of Rs 40 crore in their respective constituencies. \u201cThe list of these priority-sector works has been submitted by DCs to the government,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is worthwhile to mention that Jammu &amp; Kashmir\u2019s budget will be presented in the Assembly next month.
