Sopore, Nov 07 (KNO): An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Sagipora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n
Officials informed the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an encounter broke out after the joint teams of forces launched a search operation in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring a search operation, as the search party proceeded towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired indiscriminately upon them, which was retaliated to, leading to an encounter,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n
The intermittent firing was going on from both sides, when the report was last filed.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Chinar Corps \u2014 Indian Army on X wrote, “On 07 Nov 24, based on specific intelligence regarding presence of terrorists, a joint Operation launched by the #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice in Panipura, Sopore, #Baramulla. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops and on being challenged terrorists opened indiscriminate fire. Own troops effectively retaliated”.<\/p>\n
