BUDGAM, OCTOBER 29: Celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Diwas\/ National Unity Day, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo along with SSP Budgam, Nikhal Borkar today flagged-off \u2018Run for Unity\u2019 program at Railway Station Budgam.
\nThe event was organized by the District Administration Budgam to promote a sense of unity and integrity amongst citizens.
\nThe event, commenced from Railway Station Budgam to Behesht e Zahra Park witnessed participation of several hundred participants, including members of civil society, respected locals and students from different schools.
\nADDC Budgam, Aashiq Hussain Lily, ASP Budgam, ADC Budgam, CPO, Chief Education Officer Budgam, and other senior officers also participated in the event.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, the DC appreciated the participants and highlighted the importance of commemorating the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas\/ National Unity Day.
\nThe DC paid glowing tributes to Sardar Vallabhai Patel, for his immense contributions for the unity of the nation and for his rich legacy.
