Srinagar, Aug 27 (KB): The relatives of dialysis and cancer patients staged a protest at Sher-e-Kashmir Park, Srinagar, against the disruption of \u201cGolden Card\u201d services, without which they say their kin can\u2019t get proper treatment.<\/p>\n
The protesters speaking to the news agency\u2014Kashmir Bulletin (KB) said, they had availed of the benefits of the card but were now deprived of services from dialysis centers lately.<\/p>\n
They quoted the centers having said that the dues due from the government were causing financial distress and disruption of services. \u201cCare in Golden Card services is the lifeline for many patients,\u201d said a protester, adding we appeal to the administration to take immediate action.<\/p>\n
In the meanwhile, demonstrators also focused on the fact that after taking care of the patients in the families, they can no longer afford to pay for the said treatments now that they have to support them. \u201cThe financial burden on families has become unbearable,\u201d another protester said.<\/p>\n
