Tareefak Tribe Trust Sopore Hosts Girls Premier League 2025 – A Fusion of Sports and Spirit

The second edition of the Under-17 Inter-School Girls Cricket Tournament, organized by Tareefak Tribe Trust Sopore, kicked off on Monday with great enthusiasm and energy. The tournament is being played under the powerful slogan:

“Sports build what screens cannot — strength in the body, unity in the soul, and the courage to face the toughest innings of life.”

 

In the opening match, Government Boys High School Chankhan faced off against Valley Public School.

Government Boys High School Chankhan delivered an impressive performance, clinching a 7-wicket victory with 6 overs to spare—showcasing their skill and determination.

 

The event was graced by several dignitaries. Tehsildar Sopore, Sheikh Tariq, attended as the chief guest, while former Chairperson of MC Sopore, Musarrat Rasool Kar, was present as the guest of honor. Other notable guests included BMO Sopore Dr. Zulfiqar Nabi, Major from Army’s 52 RR, Adil Abdullah, Syed Israr, and many social representatives.

 

On the occasion, Musarrat Rasool Kar highlighted the importance of female participation in sports. She emphasized that sports not only build physical strength in girls but also nurture confidence, teamwork, and resilience. She further added that such tournaments provide new opportunities for young girls to showcase their talents and thrive in every aspect of life.

 

One of the key organizers, Shabir Ahmad, shared his views on the growing interest in women’s cricket in Sopore. He said encouraging young girls to come onto the field breaks stereotypes and empowers them to face challenges with courage. According to him, this tournament is not just about cricket—it is a platform that inspires the new generation to prioritize health, discipline, and character-building over unhealthy distractions. He also noted that the overwhelming support from schools and parents is proof that societal attitudes toward women’s roles are evolving positively.

 

The match proved to be not only a strong start to the tournament but also a reflection of the growing enthusiasm for women’s sports in Sopore—offering hope for a brighter future for the region’s budding athletes.
